Health%20Certificate.pdf
Hi Debbie,
Kenny saw Dr. Kjernisted today; he was very impressed with how healthy
and well cared for he was! Attached is Kenny's health certificate
provided today. The girls at the vet's office couldn't keep their hands
off him! He will go back in two weeks for his booster and heart worm
medication and then is scheduled for his neuter on December 1st.
Kenny had a good day yesterday. His car ride was uneventful and he is
intrigued by our cat, who is quite curious but keeping her distance. He
didn't sleep at all in the car and finally fell asleep at about 10 pm,
waking at 1:30 to do some business (outside!) and then he snuggled right
back in and let me sleep until 7:30 :) He has peed and pooped outside,
and has also shown us that he knows to use his potty park. I'm so proud
of him! The family all love him too.
Thanks again, talk to you soon!
Brenda
hi Debbie,
Yes she was spayed last Tuesday and is doing well, I will call the vet for a certificate as I only received a release post surgery sheet when I picked her up.
I have to get my daughter to sent u the pictures as I am not very good at figuring that out...she is cute as a button and really such an easy and great puppy!
Hi Debbie!
How is my baby doing this week? He is the talk of our household these days, and we have been busy getting the house ready (and safe) for his arrival.
I got a carrier for him, and today picked up an exercise pen which will keep him safe while we are at work; plus he'll have access to his potty park whenever
he needs it.
I don't mean to be a pest, but would it be ok if I stopped in to see him on Friday or Saturday if you are not working? I don't want to miss out too much on his growth and I know you will be busy with another litter of pups in a couple of weeks! If it doesn't work for you that's ok, the following Fri or Sat would be good too, but your next litter may be here by then.
TTYS,
Brenda
Hi Debbie;
Sorry, it's been really hectic lately. Yes, they came late last week thanks. I will send you some pics as soon as I get a chance. Rosco is doing super well! Love him dearly!
Thanks,
Charlene

Hello Debbie just got results back from the Vet Peanut is good to go her count was nornal the vet thinks maybe our dog food is a little heavy in iron which gave us a high reading anywho she is to go in for spading Sept 11. I guess you can look at it best be safe then sorry the Vet was doing her job, I won't fault her for that. Michael
Hi Debbie,
Cleo is doing just great. The first night, she was a little shy and unsure, but by the next day she had started to adjust well to her new home and was running around like she owned the place. She is eating good, and is very playful, we just love her to pieces.
We had our vet check her out on Saturday morning, and everything went fine, she noted the umbilical hernia, and fontanelle as well. How would you like me to send the report? I can scan it and email it if that will work for you.
Thanks,
Kyle Koss
Hi Debbie,
I have attached Monty's Spay/Neuter Certificate. He was neutered on Wed. the 27th, and also had to have 2 of his baby teeth pulled. He made it through the surgery really well. The vet staff didn't want to part with him afterwards because he is such a little sweetie! ( My groomer's staff also argue over who gets to groom him as they have all fallen in love with him too!) We are keeping a cone on him right now because he really wants to lick the incision area. So far he hasn't really complained about wearing it, although I noticed that when I took it off today for him to eat, he was much more interested in having a play time with Ruby (our other dog), than eating! Nice to see he still has his personality and I don't think the surgery will slow him down too much! I've also attached a few pictures of him. Tried to get some standing so you could see his size, but he moves too fast! He is currently just over 8 lbs, so your weight prediction of 7 1/2 lbs wasn't too off. We think he may still get a little bigger but will still be a small dog. Have you received any updated photos of his litter mates? Would love to see what they look like now.
Thanks again,
Cheryl
Awwww....he's so sweet! Can't wait to cuddle him at home. We should be able to pick him up on Thursday, Sept 8th in the afternoon if that works for you, just let me know; we will be on our way home from Abbotsford and passing right by as we will be coming home through the States.
I'll see you on Monday, I'm shooting for around 10:30 am if that works for you. By the way, I've ordered my Potty Park, it should be here this week :) Now I just need to find a kennel and I'll be all set!
Hi Debbie,
That is great news, we can’t wait to bring her home, is Saturday good? Our last Shih Tzu, Oreo, had an umbilical hernia as well, so we know it’s not a big deal.
Also, you can put both our names on the paperwork. Just let us know what time of day would be good, morning, afternoon, and evening are all good for us, but the earlier the better as we are very excited to bring her home.
Hi Debbie,
Thanks so much for the pictures and the update! Nero is a real sweetie. The girls and I are thrilled. Bruno had the umbilical cord issue too, so we are familiar with how to deal with it. I had it closed when he was neutred, which I think you said was okay last time. Glad the cheques arrived. The girls wanted to come and visit our baby before we go away (Aug 12-20). Would that be okay? I am on holidays so any day that is good for you between August 1-10 is great.
I was thinking we would come and pick up Nero on Sunday August 21st if that works out for you.
Kirsten
Hi Debbie,
Thanks again for taking the time for me today and for being so thorough
in answering my questions. I am comfortable knowing my new baby boy has
had a healthy and happy start :)
For the website, you can certainly use both my first and last name
(Brenda Zahara).
I will give you cash for the balance the next time I visit, if
that's ok. Are you home over the long weekend next weekend? If so, can I
stop by on either Sunday or the holiday Monday?
Thanks,
Brenda
Hi Debbie. Thanks for the new pictures, they are all so adorable. I love the one where she looks like she is smiling. I was wondering if it is ok for use to drive up next Friday or Saturday to pick her up? I know you had mentioned they were getting their shots on the 27 th. Please let me know if this date works. We are so excited to meet her.
Thanks Colette
Hi Debbie,
I am looking for a male Shih Tzu puppy and discovered your web site. I
have recently lost my beloved shih-tzu cross to old age (14 1/2) and
always said I would never consider any other breed. Your prices are a
bit higher than I had anticipated paying but from reading through your
website and seeing how beautiful your dogs are I can understand the
price...you get what you pay for. I appreciate the screening that you do
for potential buyers. We had our Benny for 14 1/2 years and he was the
most loved animal on the planet I'm sure. We own our home in East St.
Paul and have 3/4 of an acre, with a 3-km walking path right across the
street. We have 3 college-aged children, two of them at home. We also
have a 5-year old cat who is terribly lonely without her buddy. Would it
be possible to visit to meet Will if he is still available? If we were
to end up buying him we would not be able to pick him up until after
September long weekend.
Thanks,
Brenda
Hi Debbie,
Thanks so much for telling me all about Lily as I was a little worried when I saw how anxious she was. You are right there were only 1 out of 5 dogs she had met before and Lily is so smart that she will case out the place before picking up her rank again. It’s nice to know your family has a soft spot for her, even now and I will always feel fortunate that you gave me the first opportunity of adopting her as she is a perfect little girl. I felt guilty taking her from Simba as I know they would miss each other but I couldn’t imagine not seeing either of them again. If I knew she needed another dog I would have done anything to make her happy but she seems perfectly content and loves sleeping with me and going every where with me. I have bought all kinds of chew things that smell good and she loves to spend hours chewing and sitting on my couch and looking out the picture window at all who walks or drives by. She is our priority and she gets lots of walks and time in the back yard. Like you said she is quite fine not sharing attention and seems even happier then before as Simba was Yuris’s favourite and was treated accordingly. Lily didn’t mind too much and was okay to get what she could, however she likes being my favourite only dog, even more and I can tell she is happier. It really means a lot that you think so too.
That is too bad about that little guy in the City as the woman is obviously too selfish to know what is best for her puppy. It must be hard for you knowing there are some people who don’t put the welfare of the dog above their own. Thanks Debbie you set my mind at ease and I know you would be the best one to help Lily adjust and it’s nice to know I left her with family who loves her as much as we do. Take care and I’ll keep in touch. If you email me when I am away please send to ja1mead@hotmail.com as I never check my work email when I am on holidays. Thanks, again. Janet.
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for the awesome pictures! Harry is so cute!
My daughter Mieka is working on names. So far we have decided on "Nero" as his first name.
I sent you the cheques by express mail yesterday so you should have them tomorrow.
Kirsten
Hi Debbie,
Lily is a feisty little girl with her own kind and yet as sweet as pie with humans. I’ll mention to Jimi about Jack, I don’t think he was really looking for a puppy but he kind of liked Harry’s exuberance. Maybe if he comes with me to pick up Lily he can get another chance to see the puppies again. I know your puppies go fast, but I will mention it to him and there are always other litters too. I definitely would not have time for a puppy as much as I love them, maybe when I retire. I think Lily is doing fine being the only dog and she seems to like not having to share the attention. When we are out for walks she never seems to be that anxious to play with other dogs. See what she is like at your house, you will be able to tell whether she misses being part of a pack. I’ll know if she doesn’t want to come home with me. Is Lily getting quality time with Dennis? I know he was always partial to her.
It was great seeing you again and of course all the dogs. I meant to ask you about the little guy you rescued. Did you find a home for him? Is he okay now? I fly out later this evening and I am back August 5th evening and like I said I’ll probably pick up Lily sometime Saturday. If you are at the lake though I can wait until Sunday evening as that is no problem for me whenever it’s convenient for you. Take care and many thanks again, Janet.
Hi Debbie,
Well, I never got the pictures, could you send them to my gmail address (coolhotrod@gmail.com). Also, here are some possible names for registration:
-- Cleopatra Queen of the Red
-- Queen Cleopatra of the Red
-- Cleopatra Queen of the House
We are very excited, and can't wait to bring our new baby home! I will talk to you to next weekend to see how she is doing, and to arrange to come pick her up.
Thank you,
Kyle & Charlene
Hi Debbie,
I really missed not having Lily at home as the house seems so empty without her. I feel like I am missing my right arm as she has been my constant companion for quite awhile. I know she is in the best hands and I won’t worry about her at her at all, thanks so much for taking her. I noticed on the web site that Harry is available but I am certain last night you said he has been adopted. Jimi really was quite smitten with the little guy so I thought it was worth inquiring about just in case I misunderstood. I just love visiting when you have puppies they are just so sweet and lively. I hope Lily is adjusting as she seemed a little unsure in the beginning, until she started growling. I have never heard her growl before and I guess she will get back into her position once she cases out all her competition.
Take care and I’ll keep in touch. Many thanks again, Janet.

Debbie, Your site is very impressive. I hope this inquiry is not an imposition. My husband and I plan to bring a shih tzu into our family and
would like to purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder close to our home (we live near Washington, D.C. ).
Do you know of a reputable breeder in our area (preferably, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware or Pennsylvania)?
We do not want to make the mistake of purchasing a puppy from someone who is breeding animals just to make a few extra dollars and really
does not care about the health of the sires, dams or pups.
Best regards,
Marlene Oppenheim
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for the recent pictures, we loved them. We are just wondering how Cleo is doing, and we want to know when we can bring her home. Is there a date you have in mind, or is there an event (vet appointment) to be reached before she can go.
Also, I have been thinking a bit about a registered name, when do you need to know that by?
Thank you,
Kyle & Charlene Koss
Hi Debbie,
Thank you, that sounds great! Let's work out a payment plan so we can adopt little Harry! I have to say I adore little Harry. Our Bruno is the sweetest dog,
so to have is brother in our family too would be great.
Please let me know what kind of payment plan would work for you.

Hi Debbie:
Comet is doing really well. He is sure enjoying the backyard. Comet's certificate will be available next week. I had a small delay because I had to go out of town, and I didn't want Comet having surgery when I wasn't around. I will get some photos available for you very shortly.

I will resend it...
The pics of baby Spencer are so very cute. I will be passing them on :)
Spencer is doing great. Learning more and more everyday and is a darling puppy.
Everywhere he goes my mom is stopped to discuss Spencer.
Right now he is taking heartworm pills, with no trouble. He thinks they are a treat and just takes it and eats it:)
He makes no accidents and goes where he is suppose to go. His favorite thing is going for walks and playing outside.

Hi Debbie,
We had Monty into the Vet at 6 months and he advised waiting until all of his baby teeth are out before neutering. If they don't all come out on their own he would have to pull them and he felt that it would be best to do that at the same time as neutering so we wouldn't have to have Monty put under twice. His teeth have been slow coming in (& going out) but hopefully soon! We will let you know as soon as we have it done.
Monty continues to be the most amazing, cuddly little tease. He has such a winning personality. At 6 months he was almost 7 lbs so we think he will end up being a little bit bigger than his daddy. He had his first hair cut (other than bath & tidies) & looks so cute. We will take pictures and forward them to you.
Take care,
Cheryl

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for the info. I'll find out in the next couple of weeks what route we'll be getting Chrissy home. Not sure if the puppy nanny will go to the airport near you, or if a trip to Grand Forks will be needed. I'll let you know, so if needed, any extra amount can be calculated and added in when the balance is paid. Thanks so much!

Hi Debbie,
Yes, the deposit for Chrissy was to be why I was going to set up a Paypal today. When I was talking to my daughter though she wanted to know why I hadn't opened one up already. I really do need to have one. I can use it to pay the balance on Chrissy in a couple of weeks too. It might make things simpler in the long run, and then I'll also have an account for any other future need for one too. I appreciate the offer to do it the other way though. It's my goal to have the money to you by 4pm or so today. Thank you! Linda

Hi Debbie,
I was just getting back to you again to let you know that I'm going to set up a Paypal account tomorrow, and get the 500. deposit to you. My daughter is going to help me to do it. It's looking like we should have the rest of the balance due for Chrissy (1150?) in about 2 weeks or so. I'm also looking into a puppy nanny to get our new baby home safely. I remember your mentioning that Diva and Dakota's pups would be ready to go home sometime around the end of July? I just needed some kind of target date to shoot for so as to be able to set up the transportation. I don't remember seeing a birthdate for them on the website. I got back on your website tonite to make sure it looked like 'Chrissy' was still available, and I saw that you have a Chocolate female available..'Bashful'. Is she a pup out of Bella and Dakota that has become available again?..a sister to the puppy 'Sleepy' that we originally wanted to get? Did someone bring her back, or just never picked her up? She's a beautiful color and looks so tiny in her picture. I wanted to apologize for being such a bother the last couple of weeks. I do appreciate all your patience. Linda

I work at a long tern care facility and State is in our building right now..alot of issues and changes going on and I have been very distracted. I apologize. We are interested in Chrissy. (she's beautiful) When I found out Sleepy had been adopted it negated the need to ask you the complicated question. I do need to know what would be the best route to get a deposit to you, or what the procedure is..I guess I need to get back on your website and find it. I heard there was a Postal strike in Canada, don't know if it's still going on. Have to run..

Hi Debbie,
Been meaning to get back to you for several days now. I understand about breeding to eventually get rid of JRD, and that's my hope to be able to do. We originally wanted a Clear female, and then started wondering if a Clear male might be better, for the exact reasons you had stated in your email. We've gone back and forth with it, as it's a big decision for us. We've decided we do, if at all possible, want a female though. Little 'Sleepy' is still our first choice, but understand of course if she gets sold before we can get full payment to you, as I know she's ready to go now. I had a question that may be too complicated to put in an email, as I'm running late to get out the door now..but wondered if it would be okay to call tomorrow morning (or whatever time tomorrow is convienent) ..have a question about sending a deposit. Thank for all your time and patience.

Thank you for your reply, and the puppies pictured out of Diva and Dakota are beautiful! We may opt for one of them. I'm looking into transportation costs out of Grand Forks. I'm off tomorrow so will have more time to make some calls about pet transport companies, and find out about airline ticket costs to see which way would be better, and if it would be feasable to do by the end of July. I hope so. I do know I need to get a deposit to you asap if we're going to do it. Is there just one airport in or near Grand Forks? Thanks again,Linda

Hi Ms. Debbie,
I spoke to you on the phone last week about possibly adopting one of your puppies. I'm so sorry its taken so long to get this app. back to you. I had intended to do it this past weekend, but had some time consuming issues come up that I had to take care of. We're definately still interested in a puppy, but not sure now about the transportation to get a puppy here. It's way to hot to ship right now, and don't really like the idea of it for the puppy anyway. I looked up some ticket prices to fly there to pick up and all I could find last week were round trip tickets for around 700. I unfortunately would need a little more time to come up with that type of cost when added to the cost of a puppy with full reg. I looked up some puppy nanny websites and it looks like they will only pick up and deliver within the US. The reasons above are why I doubt the little puppy 'Sleepy' would still be available by the time I could work it all out. As of now, if 'Sleepy' wasn't available, it wouldn't matter if the puppy were male or female. We are looking for one that is free of the JRD gene, if possible. I guess the first thing I would need to know though, is if we would be able to be approved for an adoption. If you could let me know that as soon as you are able, it would be appreciated.
I give our dogs their 5 way, and our big dogs their 7 way vaccines myself. I worm regularly with Fenbendazole. We also get our horses vaccines at a local feed store and give them ourselves as well. We have alot of farm animals here, as well as several rescue animals that noone else would take. Any questions..just ask! You're welcome to come visit anytime too!
Thanks so much for your time,
Linda

Hi Debbie,
Spencer is doing great. My mom just adores him. He has been keeping mom busy and she adores doting on him. He follows my mom around and watches everything she does. He does make accidents at night more often than not but that is to be expected. He has been doing well going outside to do his business during the day. He has his own bed and he quite enjoys putting his toys in it and taking them out again. He loves to run around and play. He enjoys it outside as well. He has been to my house visiting and I have a shihtzu and mom's friend has a large dog that spends a fair bit of time around Spencer. He does well with both dogs. He is well socialized.
His vet visit was on Friday. He did well and the vet thought he was progressing nicely. Spencer didn't seem to notice his shot and had no ill affects after.
He has another vet visit scheduled but mom does not anticipate any issues with that visit either. I will send some pics soon!

Question for ya - about the Hound Dog. He has a under bite with his baby teeth (I know this common with shih tzu's). I guess it will be same for his adult ones as well, correct? I looked inside his (as long as could lol) and its looks like his jaw is that way. Just curious , and I know that YOU will have the answers as always!! :)

Hi Debbie,
Yes, my mom did tell me about Spencer. She called me just after seeing them. She had a difficult time choosing!!
I ordered her a Potty Park this morning on line.
The below information is correct for my mother
My home email is also available, but I check that far less frequently. Martini.girl@shaw.ca.
You are welcome to use my work one as well.
I am having the potty park sent to my house, so I will let you know as soon as it arrives :)
Take care!

Hi Debbie:
All things are going well with Comet. We have been really busy this spring with our business. Comet has been a real trooper commuting with us between Brandon and Winnipeg. He likes lots of attention and enjoys swimming in the pool. It was amazing how quickly he caught on to the "dog paddle."

Getting another fur friend may be an option down the road but for now we want to see how things go with his neutering. By the way how soon does this procedure need to be done?
Hope things are going well with you, and we shall wait for your reply.
P.S. Your babies are very cute!!!

Hi Debbie. I completely trust you. Just know if you don't find the right home
for her, that she can come here too. We love our shih tzus so much, they are
like children to us. I am happy that you took good care of her and loved her
and are retiring her in a good time frame. You are a very good breeder.
Thanks also for keeping me posted, I do appreciate it!

Hi Debbie. Yes, that is fine to retire Bella to a good home. She deserves it. She has had alot
of very big litters. I know it is hard to part with the adults, I have been through it many times.
Just please make sure it is a super good home that will love her, groom her, etc and not
treat her like just a "dog". If you have any reservations about the home at all, I would buy
her back to have her retire here. She is such a good girl and could live out her life where
she grew up. Keep me posted, Lisa

Rosco is adjusting extremely well to his new home. He LOVES to sleep and is super cuddly. We can't believe how well he is "potty" trained. Has not had 1 accident yet. We take him out and he just knows what to do - so far so good. Haven't been to the vet yet so we'll have to get back to you on that one. He is just a sweetheart and we love him dearly already!
Thanks for checking in!

Let me know if that works for you. Also, what kind of payments you accept. The last thing is if you could give us directions to get to your place, we obviously would be coming off the main highway. I haven't been out to Winkler for some time so I'm a little rusty.

Hi Debbie.

Yes Gismo is doing great. He's adjusting quite nicely. Marshal loves him so much already. ;D Thank you for those early pics of him. I'll have to send these pics to Eddie's computer so he can print them out. Gismo's first night went ok, he was whimpering in his cage, so Eddie put him on his pillow, and he slept quietly thoughout the night. His vet appointment is on June 10th and yes we'll send the results. Gismo is already family, and our coworkers are jealous. ;D I told my mom how much we spent on Gismo, I thought she was going to have a cow, but she just said "oh." I told her the puppy is for Marshal because we love him with all our hearts, and if Marshal wants a cute little dog, we'll pull out all stops. :D Thank you for your email Debbie. I appreciate it. :D

Thanks, Debbie!
That is exactly why I like to ask questions...because I would have never even thought of the door breaking the coat, among the other things! I really appreciate your opinion on that. We just want to do things right! So potty park it is!!!!! :) If there is ANYTHING else...little or big...that you think of feel free to just tell me anything and everything!!! :)
I had sent a second email yesterday with two questions and can't find it on my sent list now so my computer must not have sent it! Danged technology! My husband wondered if you had ever, or would ever, consider sending out one of your puppy packs separately via post? He thought they were awesome (so did I!) and I also just wondered about top knots for the show beauties and if they were actually necessary? I love the top knot and think it looks great, but just out of curiosity, if you are showing a dog, is it okay to just have the hair tied back like just tied back, in pig tails, or in the little meatballs I've seen the Maltese in? I'm fine with the coat being maintained but this one groomer I watched a video on you tube and he used an insane amount of hair spray and kept spraying the dog in the eye. If it is necessary, I'm fine with that, but I just wondered if it was the absolute standard on a shih tzu to have it or if it is okay for the odd person to just tie back the hair in a nice manner?
Talk to you soon...and hope to hear that the puppies have arrived! :)

Hello, Debbie!
I swear you'll wanna shoot me for the amount of questions I ask! :)
My husband brought up a good question about your puppy care packs. Have you ever, or would you ever, consider sending one separately like via post? Just curious! My other question was in regards to potty training. I know you start them on the potty park, but I wondered if you had ever heard of the potty training puppy apartment? And, if so, what you thought of it? We were considering getting one, but I'm wondering what your opinion of it is--if you think a puppy would take to it, or if you recommend one should stick with the potty park.
I promise I'll try not to annoy the heck of out you with all my silly questions! :) I just want to do it right and be thorough!
Thanks!

That is wonderful, thank you, Debbie!
You can tell you truly care about your chosen breed!!!!
I wish we were ready right this instant! But everything takes time! It may not be this year, but do you have your breeding planned out for later this year/2012 as of yet? We really want to make sure that our new family member has everything they need before joining us and that we are totally ready. We also would like to wait so our daughter matures a little. She is excellent with the cats and they are most patient with her, but we are working with her with dogs. She loves them, but is still sometimes a bit dog shy. So we want to prepare her, as much as our home, for her new little fur brother! I would take your recommendation and get a male no matter which breed we decide on. My husband and I don't want to have the risk of if we had a female dog of any kind of it accidentally getting pregnant if it were for show and then us having a full litter of puppies we weren't prepared for! I like the idea of a male dog anyway just because I've heard a female in heat can be "messy." Is it common in your litters to get the solid livers or liver with cream blaze? There is one on your site, though it is a female, that is gorgeous and the other one I saw was solid liver and he looked beautiful, too. I was looking at your pictures of the different colours of coats and the one I seemed most drawn to was the solid liver--both light and dark! I love them all, but those colours were particularly stand outs to me and I just wondered how common, if at all, that was.
Thank you--again! :)

Thank you, Debbie!
It looks like we've got a lot to think about! In my schooling right now I'm just nearing conformation shows and what's involved so that will give me a good idea when I get my study books and it looks like I now should add researching grooming and keeping a show coat to those studies! My hubby's parents and others that have Shih-Tzu that we know all have theirs in puppy clips which is cute, but I do like how they look with a bit of a longer coat. They just look so regal! I can bet it takes a lot with all that hair. My daughter and I both have long hair and I know how hard it is to keep ours from tangling so I can bet having it all over your body would take a lot of effort, but the finished result is worth it and looks beautiful! It's like a Chinese Crested when it is groomed--and I know they need a lot of skin care, too. Right now we're considering the Shih-Tzu, Chinese Crested, Mini Schnauzer, Beagle and Labrador. All beautiful dogs. I do hope you don't mind keeping in touch with me in the coming months! You've been so amazing so far and extremely helpful!!! Where we are now we just found out there is a kennel club just a half hour from us and they teach obedience, agility and conformation classes so I've already made up my mind that is where I'm going when we do welcome in our new family member. But that is good advice to show first and then do the rest. It is all about what the dog feels comfortable with and if the dog didn't like the show ring, we'd stop and try something he'd like to do. But yeah, we've got some more thinking and researching to do. As with anything--the more effort and love and passion you put into something or someone, the more you get back!

Hi, Debbie!
Thank you once again! Your information is very useful and much appreciated! That is why my husband and I are taking our time...looking for a reputable breeder and choosing the right breed. I wish all breeders were as informative as you are! Well, if we were to decide we wanted to show dogs as well, even if a dog is show quality, is it necessary to breed them, or is it ever at all possible to just have a show dog and never breed them? I know, ultimately, that a dog that meets breed standards are meant to be bred, but first and foremost we're looking for a family companion first, and possible show/agility champion second. Breeding takes a great deal of work and we're not really looking to get into all that. I know it's hard to know a person from an email, but if we were approved to purchase one of your puppies, provided we choose the Shih-Tzu to go with, and we wanted to show, we just really want to have fun and not necessarily breed. I know a lot of people DO breed their dogs to continue the championship line, but if we ever were going to, it wouldn't be to make money. It would only be to continue the dog's line. Right now we're not even thinking of breeding. Show rings and agility just looks like fun! I just wonder if you are required to breed a show quality dog?
With thanks--again! :)

That is awesome! We still have a lot of researching and planning and prep to do before we're ready (we want to do it right!) and your information will help us greatly in our decision! We do have a toddler and cats. I know the Shih-Tzu my inlaws have is fantastic with kids and loves them! Are they all like that? And in regards to show dogs, do you sell on a co-ownership as well? I've been watching videos on you tube with small dog agility and the Shih-Tzu seem to be very clownish, but some did very well which got me a little excited considering so many people say they can't do it and are the hardest dogs to train--but I guess if they are eager to please, then it shoudn't be too difficult with time, positive reinforcement and lotsa love and patience! I noticed one of your nurseries was due for puppies! I hope they all arrived safe and sound!
Again, thank you, Debbie!

Hello!
My name is Tara and I'm writing you from Huntsville, ON!
My husband and I are not ready yet for a puppy, but I have a great love of animals, am taking courses in animal science, and eventually would love to enter the dog world of agility and possibly even show dogs! We've been doing research on different breeds we may like and the Shih-Tzu is one on our list of possibles! My husband's family has a solid black Shih-Tzu and he is such a doll! We love him! I came across your website after many hours of looking at different breeders and your site is wonderful and your dogs are beautiful! Anyway, I was hoping that you wouldn't mind answering some questions for me. I've been on the Canadian Kennel Club site and a bunch of different sites trying to fully understand the differences in registrations. I recognize that in order to show a dog it needs to have full registration and be whole and that non-show dogs have limited registration and are spayed/neutered. Is that basically it, or is there more to it than that? I also wondered---I have noticed several breeders only offer show dogs on a co-ownership and some do not. Is that something that is necessary if you are to show a dog? I have also noticed that some Shih-Tzu do okay in agility, yet some sites say they are hard to train. How do you feel they are in terms of training? And is there anything else we should know if we are considering a Shih-Tzu?
Thank you for your help and any information you can provide!
With sincere thanks;
Tara.

Subject: New Puppy Inquiry
Hello;
I would like to inquire about getting a shih tzu puppy. I have just been online looking for puppies and stumbled onto your sight. We are looking to add a new puppy to our family hopefully around the beginning of August (we have a few trips planned with the family at the end of June and mid July) - and once we are homebound feel that would be a good time as we will have the time to spend with our new addition.
I see that you may have a couple of litters on the horizon and since they need to stay with their mothers for 8-9 weeks, I am wondering if this might be a good time to put our name on the list?
We are thinking that we would like a male puppy, and hoping for a tan with black or similar to Donner, Professor Rufus or Nanuk? (with the black nose and eyes) -
We are looking for a family pet and it certainly looks like you have quite a reputable operation.
I am wondering if you have an idea if you may be expecting something similar in your upcoming litters.
We are in Winnipeg. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Charlene McIntosh

I would have saved a lot money – had Bernie been on this plan. One tube of his eye ointment over $70!!!! The tube is tiny. It’s been a very expensive time for the ól guy, the last couple of years.
So we had someone over today, he lost his shih tzu last week. He fell in love with Elvis. He still has one at home. I started showing him your site. He already knew of you, as a friend of his bought from you. I think I got his wheels turning. He REALLY loved Elvis… had to check his pockets before he left… lol… They have two kids that have moved out now. I told him if he bought one, he had to bring him/her over. J He likes the duo colours.
Have a great day.

Hi, Deb!
Thought you'd like to know that Giz just returned from his first sno-bird holiday, and it was a complete success. We spent two and a half months in Yuma and Phoenix, and Giz was an excellent traveler--no problems in the truck, and adapted well to new surroundings. Fortunately there's lots of green space where we rent in Phoenix, as he doesn't like to pee in Arizona back yards, which are mainly stone and cacti. There are tons of dogs in our development, so he made lots of new friends, and was a big hit--there are lots of shih tzus, but all of them were clipped, so his long coat (and his coloring) were a huge topic of conversation. Anyway, he's a wonderful little dog (thou he's about 13 pounds--our vet assures me he's not overweight) and is much loved (also spoiled!). We longingly track the progress of his new brothers and sisters (especially Grumpy), but figure that one is enough for now. Thanks again for the care you put into your dogs. It's definitely true that you get what you pay for, and we couldn't be more pleased!

Hello, i am interested in coming out to see some of the puppies, some time this weekend. Not too sure what day. Is there any day that is not suitable for you? Your site mentions that some of the pups are at Corinnes and your daughters; do you know if they are also available in case i wish to see more pups? I think i am interested in Blitzen (the tiny one), but have two big dogs already and dont want him to be roughed up at all. Can you let me know the best way to get there from Winnipeg and
what day is best? Is there a concern with the flood anywhere? Thanks so much. Donna

Hi Debbie. I am sorry it took so long to send you some pictures of Bree. We love her to bits and so do all of our neighbours and friends. She is an absolute doll who loves people and her Finn (our other dog). She has a lot of personality and is an absolute joy to be around. And she is a very healthy little puppy. Thanks again for sending her to us. Its hard to believe she hasn't even been here a year.

Hi Debbie,
Was actually going to call you as well. Everything checked out fine and Sadie received her shot and is scheduled for her last shot and booster May 18th. She is adjusting famously! Sleeping through the night and doing business outside. We have taught her to "come, sit, stay". She has sure loved raking the grass with my daughter and running the front yard!
We'll send you a picture once the girls have a minute to do this for me.
Take care,
Leslie

I thought I would follow with tradition and give you a few photos of Elvis for his week 9 Birthday. Although some are from his first day here and so on..
It is like having a baby, you can not imagine life without them now. It's like he has always been here.
Today is was bobbing back and forth in front of Bernie (my older dog). It was really funny, and he is doing exactly what I thought. Bringing a twinkle to the old hounds eye. Its great.

Debbie - you're a Breeder Goddess and I bow to thee! The family istruly enthralled with Elvis. Loves his crate, does his businessoutside, cuddles, beyond cute!!! So he went to vet yesterday. He was so well behaved. He is a healthybaby. Only two small issues. 1) the slight hernia you knew about. 2) aheart murmur. He said 2 out of 6. So the vet said he will keep an eyeon it. He gave us meds for heart worm - but could have sworn you started thisalready. Wanted to confirm before I give the first of 3 pills. I send one quick photo now from blackberry. Send you more soon from my camera. Also do you have a fax machine ? I have vet report.

Hi Debbie,
Wanted to send you a few pictures of Monty. He is such a sweetheart. He has totally fit right into our family. He is the fourth pup we've had and of the four, he has definitely been the easiest to house train. He very seldom has any accidents in the house any more. He and Ruby (our other dog) have become best friends and inseparable. He follows her everywhere and they spend hours playing and wrestling. Can't thank you enough. The pictures really don't do him justice as they don't show off his easy going, loveable, playful personality.
Thanks again,
Cheryl

Hi Debbie:
Thanks for the advice, and I will try that once the snow melts. Comet is growing very quickly and is learning how to play a competitive game of catch with Paul and me. On Comet's last visit to the vet he weighed in at 5 lbs. and a few ounces, so he might grow up to be quite a "big" boy. Anyway, Paul and I are enjoying Comet very much, and he is a very gentle little soul.

Hi Debbie! Our little Miss Bailey C. is doing very well! The last time we were at the vet was the end of Feb. for her last set of shots...all was well, however our vet did not want to do her spaying until sometime in April as she prefers to wait to be sure all of her teeth come in ok first, in case there is need for an extraction. I will send you the surgical record once she is done to keep all of your records up to date. She is such a peach! I will enclose some photos!
Thanks! Michelle

Kiwi was spayed on March 8th. Everything went really well and she's healing up very fast. I don't think she even knew what happened, she was back to playing the next day. My scanner isn't working properly so I'm going to have to mail you a copy of the spay certificate. I'll be sending that out on Monday. I've attached a few pictures. We have many more that we'll send when we get them off the camera. Kiwi is so adorable and everyone loves her. She has a great temperament and is so friendly and playful. We're so happy to have her.

Sorry I've been very busy with work.
I'll get the vet report to you shortly.
Snips is a very good puppy, he still whines a bit a night - usually to go to the washroom so he needs to get out of his crate but not bad, otherwise he is a very well mannered puppy who is 99% house trained so it has been a pleasure - thank you for that.

Hi Debbie,
We are sending off your paperwork today with the vet report. We haven't gotten a stool analysis yet as we didn't have a sample when we went in on Friday, and their lab is closed over the weekend, and they said we had to drop off a fresh sample. So we are dropping that off this morning and will send you the results when we get them. Monty had a good sleep last night and is starting to instigate "play time" with Ruby (along with everyone else). It's -35 today with wind chill so we are LOVING the potty park!

Hi Debbie,
We are loving Monty! He and Ruby are getting along really well. I got up twice with him last night as he was whimpering. Was he sleeping through the night at your house or is this pretty normal? Just wanted to check as I wasn't sure if he was sleeping through the night yet or able to hold his bladder that long. He is a super snuggly little guy and seems to be adapting really well. We have filled out your paperwork and will be sending to you. Also, we had him checked by our vet yesterday and he said he was perfectly healthy and doing well.
Thanks again!

Hi Debbie,
Halo is doing great, he has adjusted well! We just got home today so I will be taking him to the vet tomorrow to have his check up and I will send you the documentation after. It is funny because our cat is scared of him and keeps trying to get close enough for a sniff of Halo but then Halo sees her and the cat runs..lol And Halo has moved himself in to the lower floor of the cat house; so cute!
Halo cries at night when he goes into his kennel but all I have to do is tell him it is time for sleep and he quits...he is so amazing!
Thanks

Shadow is doing really well. First day he had diarrhea but that is all over with now. Only 1 accident yesterday, and none today. Sleeping through the night. The vet was very impressed with his coat and how shiny it was. He came with a clean bill of health from the vet. She actually said she had a number of puppies that have come from you and all were good. He really doesn't seem to like the dog food, but he is eating throughout the day. I think he actually likes the other dogs food better so we keep having to lift up their food. Overall he is adjusting very well. He's even trying to get the other dogs to play.

Good morning Debbie- so our first night with Bailey went really well - she's quite a playful little one! Murphy is still not so sure about her, he's still pouting today...but I'm sure they'll be fast friends soon enough! Because I didn't have the puppy park, we put a similar type material on the floor in her cage - but I also took her outside every 2 hours in the evening and then once through the night - she peed 3 times outside and had a big #2 outside as well - Yahoo Bailey!!
I put her in her crate overnight and put it right beside our bed...she didn't even cry - she just snuggled in and went to sleep from 10-2:30am and then after her bathroom trip she slept again 2:30 until our baby woke at 6am...
So far so good - she's eating and drinking good too - and lots of tail wagging!!
Couple of questions though - how frequently were you feeding the pups? I want to keep her on schedule for easier training...thanks!

Here is our Veterinary Certificate for Patch rer "Debbie's Shih Tzu Puppy Sales Contract". This will validate the contract. I have also attached the Veterinary's Itemized Invoice with the Fecal Floatation results that Patch does not have any parasites. Our Vet was impressed with our Patch, as we are ourselves. He was calm, cool and collected throughout the examination. The Vet told us that most dogs are pretty excitable. Patch is a perfect fit for us. Patch loves being outside and as a result he is peeing and pooping outside. In fact, he loves pooping outside so much, he has had two poops already.
Thank you.

Hi Debbie,
I sent you the papers this afternoon. The vet was very impressed with both Bree and her medical forms. Bree does have a small umbilical hernia though that needs to be fixed. We have a vet appointment in a week to administer the third series of shots. Our vet then administers rabies three weeks after this. She does not like giving these shots at the same time. We will have her spayed at six months. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Debbie,
My kids (and Jeff and I) are in love with her (Nevada renamed Bree)! She is sitting on my son kissing him right now! She goes to all of the kids and jumps in their lap for snuggles! Now she is on my husband doing the same! Finn is trying to figure out what she is I think! He is so much bigger than her. They played a bit and have kinda followed each other around. She is just a tiny little doll. She has totally recovered from the flight! Thank you so much - she is amazing.
Is she still getting up a lot at night? She is so tiny but she hasn't had an accident yet.

Hello Debbie. Well let me tell you what a wonderful little pup Pepper is. The first night she slept on our pillow between us and has ever since we haven't even penned her. She has taken to the leash great. No messes in the house. The other two still don't know what to think of her yet. She had a bath today at a groomers, she was great. Travels great as well, but really noisy. She fit right in. I can't believe how good she is. Tonight we gave her a big test & left her with the other in our tailer all by themselves. No messes, everything was fine like she had been with us for a couple years. So so cute love to cuddle. I take her out before we go to bed & again in the middle of the night. She is dry as a bone in the morning like she is about ten years old lol. Loves her car seat, sleeps most of the day travelling .She fits right in with our life unbelievable great great little pup we love her. I'll send you some pics as soon as I download them.

I wanted to let you know that Meeko is Great, we are starting puppy classes in Sep. He is very comfortable here and is very much loved from me and any one who meets him.
Meeko will be going in to get Neutered this thursday Aug 26. He is also going to be having a baby tooth taken out as there is still one fang tooth that is being stubborn.
I will make sure that i send you off all the documents that you are needing next week sometime. I also wanted to send you a pic that we took of meeko just a few days ago, he just finished drinking water and playing around with the other dogs. I will make sure to send you more pic's of meeko when I get all the paper work all together for you.

With the summer and our going away to the lake it took this time to get the appointment, and also I wanted the young vet that has been seeing Oscar from the start to be the one that looks after him. I cannot put into words what a special little guy he is, I have been around puppies and dogs all my life but I have never come accross anything like |Oscar. He is the most gentle, loving and quiet little things you can imagine. He never barkes unless he wants me to play with him, when he greets people he just runs to them and wags his little tail and just wants to be petted. He is fully trained and has been for months, he has the full run of the condo, all day when I am gone to work. He was a only puppy and he is so special. You may think I am silly but I can go on and on about him, he is the love of my life. When I tell you he is special, he really is. His temperment is unique, I have to say that in one way it is a sin that he will never father any puppies, because he is one in a million. He is beautiful to look at, his face, his little mouth and teeth, when he looks at you all you want to do is hug and kiss him. By the way, he gets lots of that as well, when I come home from work, he runs to meet me and stands on his little legs and waits for me to pick him up. He snuggles on my neck and gets all the attention he wants. Sorry for going on and on but you did ask how Oscar is doing lol. I will forward the papers after next week, and I will send you some pictures of him soon. He has been to the groomers twice, they love him there as he is so good. You can be so proud of him, I am, and I love him so much. He is my little guy. I will be in touch.

Hi Deb! Hope these pictures work--we're totally computer illiterate when is comes to attachments! Giz is great--he'll be going for his operation sometime in late Sept. or early Oct., after holidays and company have calmed down. Doug has had four shih tzu's and says Giz is by far the best (and smartest)!

Debbie, Pepsi is doing fantastic. We have taken him out camping now a couple times. It is a bit more work but he's a blast out there.
Couple weeks back we had him neutered. Is there anything we need to send you for confirmation. Surgery went well (laser).
Kids are doing well. He's a great addition to our home.
Let me know. Thanks. Paul

Hi Debbie,
I am following up with you from our last email regarding Sofie's vet visit. She is all good. Clean bill of health and she is doing great and growing please see attached docs for your records. Sofie has been scheduled for her spaying for August 4th. I noticed that Sofie does not have a tattoo.
And also I would like to make note that your concern for your little pups you breed is very legitimate and you are one of the best breeders I personally know and am proud to purchase your pups (I may be back for one more) however my delay in Sofie's vet visit was not deliberate but unfortunately due to the family crisis we have with our disabled daughter which we are still dealing with. I hope that you can take into consideration that things unfortunately do happen. We love our little dogs but we also love our children too please understand. I hope the attached information is to your satisfaction.
Thanks

Hi Debbie, Just a quick note to let you know that Bruno is settling in very well. He is eating, drinking, sleeping AND doing his business outside! We just love him. I found an Australian version of the Potty Park at PetValu on Pembina Hwy and am going to get one this weekend. He's happy in his pen and is sleeping at night without too much yelping.
Thank you again for everything.

Hi Debbie
The vet check went good. Didn't get Dr Marco but his assistant DVM said they were both good. Sully in his opinion had a slight yeast invection in his left ear so I'm going to give me a little Surolan for about a week.
He didn't know how to get the form from the computor so when Marco comes in on Tuesday when he is there he will type out his evaluation email it to me and I will send it to you when I get it.
They were quite tired yesterday from a new day of playing with Diane and I, and slept a few times during the day but they slept from 10 last night till 9 this morning, never heard a sound.
Here are a few pictures I took of them last night, ready to pass out they were. I took some outside with some of the other dogs with them and they all fit in well. Lexi told the pups a few times to stay away from her, she getting into that zone now, keep your distance and the other ones already know that's happening now Sully and Ocean know too. They stayed at least 3 feet from her every since.
Measha finally has someone smaller than her and loves to play with them. So does Maya and Arcee. When Adam fixes my computor, for some reason it doesn't want to download my chip today so I will send them when I can get them on my hard drive. Adams not in today.
Sully and Ocean are still having a nap behind me from all that exercise on the deck with the rest of the pack all the girls anyway except Kali. The boys will be tomorrow and them its Kali's turn. She wants to play with them. She sticks her head over the gate and watches them run around. I know Kali will be OK with the pups but its usually funny when the puppies first meet her. Must be quite a sight to see something 45 times their size.
Sully weighed in at 1.26 Kgs and Ocean was 1.20 Kgs. It looks like Sully should weigh more than just over an ounce more than Ocean. Maybe it's that big coat that makes him look that much bigger than her.
Talk later.

Just want to let you know we recieved Moose's paper work in the mail today. Moose continues to amaze us. He has always slept through the night and he has only had 2 accidents since we got him and it was our fault. He fits in with our gang and they are very accepting of each other. We groomed him for the first time last weekend and he was so good!!!

Hi Debbie. It has been a while, just wanted to touch base and to let you know that Oscar is doing well and is quite the little prince in this building. Every day we go outside everyone is looking for him and he is the center of attention. He is making his regular visits to the vet and is growing. He is one amazing little puppy and is the joy of my life. I am going to try and send you a picture of him that was taken just a few days ago. I have a question for you, the vet that will be looking after him in June to do his surgery asked me if I wanted to have his nasal passages opened at the same time. I asked my daughter and she said it could bea money making venture for the clinic because she has not had any trouble with her little one, and I am nothaving any difficulty with Oscar. Is there something that I should be aware of and I would like your advise or comments on the issue. Hope all is well with you and you may be getting a call from friends of ours with inquiries about a puppy.

Hi Debbie,
Moose went to the vet today and got a clean bill of health. The vet was impressed with his colour. He has been so good and no accidents and going outside for all his business. He is sleeping through the night and he is so good and waits to go outside in the morning. Moose is amazing and Bill & I love him to bits. Think alot of this stems back to how they are raised. Maybe in the future we will purchase a female from you if okay with you.
Thanks for everything

Morning, Debbie! Thought I'd let you know that Gizmo is settling in very well--slept most of the night, seems happy, and is very active--spends most of his time chasing his tail, eating, drinking, and cuddling--also likes to add toys to the collection he's already put in his kennel. The vet pronounced him perfect--he'll get his next shots on Saturday. All is well!

Hi there,
Pepsi had a good first night. I heard him whimpering at around 2, so took him out for potty and then back to bed until 7:30. He is whimpering when he is walking around, but I am sure that's normal as he adjusts to our home, right?
Not keen on the water bottle here yet, but has eaten.
How fresh does the stool sample have to be when we take him to the vet?
The Pet valu in Winkler didn't have either food for us. She thought Winnipeg would have a lot of the Nutro brand though.
Thanks again for all of your pre work.
With the potty patch, can we put it outside on our deck and lead him there now already so he gets used to going to the door when he needs to go or should we wait for a bit?

Sofie is doing wonderfull. She is eating and drinking. I bring her to work with me so she's not home alone. We will be making doctor appt soon. By the way where can I get the food you provided us with the Eagle Pack Holistic chicken meal and rice formula. Sofie likes it. Do they have food for older dogs like our Mimi. Again Sofie is doing great. We all love her and she does her business on the grass outside I could see her asking to go out to do her stuff sooner than later.

Hi Debbie,
Hope you had a great Easter weekend. Tripper was neutered on March 23, 2010 and all went well. I have the certificate and will get a copy of it in the mail to you, you know me I am just slow to get things done, It's the first time I have checked my email in weeks, I shall make you a priority and send it this week. Thank You. Tripper still does not have his bottom permanent front teeth, the top are all in, and the bottoms come up and just fall out because the permanent ones are right behind them, I have never seen this before, but they are coming. He is such a boy, I have only ever has female shih tzus and trust me I am finding out there is a difference, cause he is quite the Man. He was 12.8 LBS when he was neutered, so he is just the perfect size. We Love him. Thank You

Hi Debbie I got the papers today, thank you. Oscar and I were outside for his second visit to the real grass and all the new sounds and smells. He did go on the grass and I was so proud of him. He is a really good puppy, smart and I am having so much fun with him. Last night he discovered his squeeky toy for the first time and it was so much fun to see his reaction when it made the noise. He seems to be adjusting to my going every day and he is so happy to see me when I come home at night. He has been to the vet last week and will go again in April for more shots. He is healthy and growing so much.

Things went really well at the vet, I am sorry that I did not get back to you but I have been really sick. It started the day I picked up Oscar, and it just got worse. Jim and I went to the vet on Monday morning and he was such a good little gentleman, even the vet said so. He was so good and did not even complain when he was getting examined. He goes on the 25th for his shots and we will take each visit from there. The vet is young and is very niceand we approved of him so he will be Oscar's regular. He is doing so well, he is growing, eating well, and I think is really enjoying his new home. I love him so much that I can't wait to get home in the evenings. He was lucky because the first week I was home, I was so sick that I was taken of work so we had some quality time. Today was his first full day without me and I was so worried but he was fine and happy to see me when I came home. He comes out to play and I watch him and when I feel it is time for the potty patch I just walk back to him kennel and tell him it is time. When he is ready and if finished I praise him and let him out again. He is very smart and he is the hit of the condo. I am a little nervous about doing his nails, they have grown a little so I will try to do them this week. He hadhis first bath on Sunday and when it was over he still loved me so I think all went well. He is such a well manner little guy and he is getting lots of hugs and kisses. I do love him and know itwas the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. Please keep in touch with me and I will try and forward some pictures of him when I download from the camera. Oh yes I bought him a blue teddy bear, very safe with no small parts he can chew of, he loves it, you shouldsee him shaking the bear and bringing it out the hall in his mouth. I put it in his little bed with the blanket and he sleeps with no trouble at all. So all is well, and Oscar and I will be so happy with each other. Oh yes, the day we took him to the vet, Jim of course had to go as well. When we were leaving the vet looked at Oscar and told him that he was going to be one happy little puppy with a good home. Take care.

Hi Debbie,
It must be nice to have too many people on your waiting list hey, haha. What is the thing with females though, do you have a reason why people want them more, males seem to be more affectionate and cuddly to me. Are they scared of them spraying which they won't do once they are neutered or what?
If any of the people that contact you are looking for solid blacks which you don't have at this time, remember I have 3 myself, and a male just like Arcee all ready to go right now. I would send people your way if I didn't have any at the time.
I told you Jojo's dad is Moka and I guess the odds were definitely not on my side for that litter of Livers for me. Got to wait for the next litter I guess which won't be till Fall, but I was going to try Bowen and see if Jojo had any Blue in her, her Grand Sire is a Blue. I guess I will decide then. With so many people wanting Chocolate Livers it probably will be Teddie.
Arcee is doing great and getting along with everyone.

Steve(Jett - the kids changed his name!) is doing very well! We adore him! He is so eager to please, happy and outgoing! We would recommend your puppies to anyone looking for a Shih Tzu.
He has all his shots. He is very big! Over 9lbs at his Jan. Vet appointment. Again, a really friendly, lovable fellow. I will let you know when his papers arrive and will send copies of the vet records when he is nuetered.
Best,

Hi Debbie,
We are the family that purchased Mimi. She is beautiful and well and a big part of our family. We love her very much including Grandpa who sometimes babysits her as we don't like our doggies home alone for too long when we go out for the evening.
I am contacting you to say we are interested in purchasing another dog hopefully from Bella and Dakota's litter. We lost our older Milo and we are sad. Mimi is very lonely and we want to give her a friend and companion. Mimi and Milo were great friends and did everything together. Where one went the other one always followed. Mimi is very lonely and does not play like she use to.
We are very interested in a Liver dog. We would like a female. I can see you have 3 people on your waiting list also wanting a female. If we can't get one from this litter we will wait for your next litter for a female liver pup.
Please contact me so we can discuss this further. You can call me at my office on my toll free number below or you are also welcome to call me at home 488-4550 and speak to myself or my husband Jim.
We love how you take care of your dogs and we believe in your service of bringing these beautiful little creatures into the world. I am looking forward to speaking with you.

Hi Debbie,
One thing I realized from our very first emails, you truly loved and cared for all your animals, both puppies and adults. I talked to many breeders, before I met you and I was never satisfied about their commitment to their animals. Once we started communicating, I knew that I was picking my puppy from one of your litters and even if I had to wait a year or six months, it would be worth the wait. You patiently and in depth answered all of my questions. I know I was a pest, but you never let on and my only goal was this desire to want to know everything about raising shih Tzu puppies.
Then you gave us the first, opportunity of adopting Lily and you can't believe how honoured I felt. Of course at first, Yuris was worried that Simba may not adapt and that he would be unhappy. I had seen Lily enough to know that the two of them would be just fine and they would thrive together. With Lily, I can't put my finger on what captivated me about her, but there was something special and unique about her, maybe it was the fact that she was the smallest of the pack but the leader just the same or maybe it was the way I watched her keep the on-watchers at a respective distance from her puppies and yet humans she trusted explicitly and showed total respect. Taking her home, it only got better, after a week with us, she settled down and we noticed how much she loved to run, just like Simba and now he had someone to chase and be chased by and finally do dog things, he was completely happy, but he did watch to see how the attention was being delved out. It wasn't so much Yuris, but it was me he watched. I always kept it fair and I made sure everything was equal and over time we all have our special places and routines. When you look at the size of Simba and Lily it is hard to believe that he is her son as she is so tiny and refined looking, he definitely has the stature of Tonka.
One thing is for certain, both Lily and Simba are dearly loved and cherished by all of us and they have been great companions for Yuris, he would definitely have been lost without them. He went through a difficult time and they were there for him. We definitely think they have given us more then we have ever given them and there isn't anything we wouldn't do to protect or care for them. It is kind of a win-win situation for all of us and even Yuris's mother who just lives for seeing the two of them. The last 3 years of her life have been difficult for her physically (95yrs old) and yet her spirit soars when she sees the two of them and I honestly feel it's helped her cope the loss of her husband and eldest daughter. It's wonderful to see how she lives for them and Yuris takes them for visits every couple of weeks and I think she enjoys seeing them more then even her own kids or grandchildren. She adores them and they have this special bond with her too and Simba especially. We let him go once we are in the building and he knows to wait by the elevator and exactly which door to go to once we are on her floor and I have never seen him so hyper and excited and there is nothing anyone can do to settle him down. He barks like crazy for her apartment door to open and then he is in her lap and kissing her, before she knows what hit her. From the doorway I hear her laughing and laughing hysterically and this goes on for at least 5 minutes, it's a wonder this welcome hasn't given her a heart attack. I have never seen Simba so nuts over anyone before, he is not even like that with us when we are away. Lily in the meantime is waiting patiently by her feet for her turn and permission to jump up. Simba doesn't like when it's her turn, but he has learned to share grandma and he is quick to recapture his spot on her lap once Lily has her turn. It will be interesting when your mother visits whether he is like that with elderly people or is it just something about Yuris's mother.
I should let you go, I am just so amazed by their intelligence and there are not too many people who want to listen to how smart our dogs are, but I know you enjoy hearing about all your family of Shih Tzu's. Thanks for listening and thanks again so much for looking after them for us. You are doing us such a big favour and I know you have said before that you don't want payment for looking after them, but if you ever change your mind, I'd be happy to pay. Even if you never accept, I will always find some way of repaying you for the big favour you are doing for us, as I truly do appreciate the care and love you give them in our absence and of course your whole family and a special mention to Dennis too! Take care and many thanks again, Janet.
